Features

The Drift Innovations X170 packs a huge amount of features into the one camera. It offers high quality video (720 x 480, 30 frames per second), 5 mega pixel photos, a 1.5" colour LCD screen for playback, a 5m wireless RF remote control, a 170° wide angle lens, which can be rotated through 300°. The X170 is waterproof (0.5m) and has a rugged rubber coated exterior and also features an easy to use interface

Colour Screen

The X170 has a colour screen that not only allows you to see where the camera is pointing to ensure you get the shot you want, you can also play back your clips instantly.

Video is recorded at 720 x 480 (at 30 frames per second) and can be saved as either an .mp4 or .avi(motion jpeg) - these formats are easy to use when playing back and editing on your computer. The X170 will take up to a 16GB SD card and uses 1GB of space per 30 minutes of video.

The X170 also records audio and you can go into the menu and adjust the sensitivity of the microphone to suit your application.

Rotating Lens

Some self contained cameras suffer from shakey footage that is caused by having a narrow angle lens. The X170 however has a 170 degree wide angle lens that not only makes the video smoother, it also makes setting up the right angle easier.

Add to this the fact that you can rotate the camera lens through 300 degrees and you'll have no excuses for not getting the perfect shot every time.

Power

The X170 takes 2 x AA batteries - Lithium batteries will last 4 hours and good quality Ni-MH rechargeable batteries will give approximately 2.5hrs.

Remote Control

Once you have your camera set up you can use the wireless remote control to stop and start recording. The RF remote has a range of over 5 metres and does not require line of sight to work.

When you get back home you can either download your videos onto your computer with the supplied USB cable or watch your videos on your TV directly from the X170 with the supplied AV cable.
